A TRIBUTE TO A BELOVED RADIO AND COMMUNITY ICON
The community of Indianapolis is invited to join in a celebration of the life and legacy of Jerry Wade on April 20th, 2024. Hosted by 106.7 WTLC, the Jerry Wade Celebration promises to be an event filled with love, laughter, and memories, honoring a man who touched the hearts of many.
Jerry Wade, affectionately recognized on-air as “The Loverman,” stands as an enduring figure in Indianapolis radio, boasting a media career that spanned five decades. As the esteemed host of the Ouiet Storm on the renowned 106.7 WTLC, Jerry held the distinction of being the longest-running on-air talent, consistently garnering top ratings across all core demographics. Sadly, Jerry Wade passed away on January 8, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever resonate beyond the airwaves.
In recognition of his extraordinary contributions, the Jerry Wade Celebration will take place in front of the 106.7 WTLC studios at 40 Monument Circle, starting at 12:00 PM.
Attendees can expect a heartwarming tribute to Jerry Wade featuring speeches, live music, and special performances. In true Jerry Wade fashion, the celebration will also include the creation of the world’s biggest soul train line-a fitting homage to his vibrant personality and love for music and dance.
“We are honored to host the Jerry Wade Celebration and pay tribute to a remarkable individual who meant so much to our community,” said Regional Vice President Deon Levingston of Radio-One Indianapolis. “Jerry’s legacy of love and positivity continues to inspire us all, and this event is our way of ensuring that his memory lives on.”
