
Cox Media Group (“CMG”) today announced that programming veteran Shawn Knight has been named Assistant Director of Branding & Programming for WHJX (HOT 106-5) in Jacksonville. Shawn will support day-to-day programming and the execution of marketing, promotions, events, and sales campaigns. In addition, he will continue to host afternoon drive on HOT 106-5 and mid-days on Power 106-1.
Knight brings more than 30 years of dynamic, results-driven, and goal-focused experience in radio. He served as Assistant Program Director in Tyler, Tx, at Kiss 107.3 and Programming Assistant at K92.7 in Columbus, Ga., and at SOUL 106.3 in Chicago. He began his radio career in Chicago, at Kennedy King College’s WKKC, and WGCI-AM. He went on to become a very successful morning show host in Topeka, Kansas, affording to win the Best Morning Show by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters. Shawn recently graduated from the prestigious Morehouse College with a BA in Business Administration. In his new role, he will be reporting to Elroy Smith, the Director of Branding & Programming for HOT 106-5/Power 106-1 and Director of Urban Content for Cox Media Group.
