Urban One has added The Rickey Smiley Morning Show to mornings on WPPZ (Classix 107.9) in Philadelphia, marking Smiley’s return to the market. The syndicated program launched Monday, May 4, airing weekdays from 6-9am.
Hosted by comedian and radio personality Rickey Smiley, the show blends music, entertainment, news and commentary, along with community-focused content. The program’s co-host lineup includes Da Brat, Gary Wit Da Tea, Rock-T, Alfredas and Special K.
Smiley said he looks forward to reconnecting with Philadelphia listeners, noting his long history performing in the city.
Sean Sams, Vice President and General Manager of Radio One Philadelphia, said the addition aligns with the station’s goal of delivering engaging and culturally relevant programming. He cited the show’s mix of humor, information and signature segments as a strong fit for the Classix 107.9 audience.
