Michael Martin will step down as Senior Vice President of Programming and Head of Music Initiatives at Audacy, effective May 1, ending a 17-year tenure with the company and its predecessors.
Martin said he is leaving to begin the next phase of his career after years focused on building programming platforms, artist partnerships and large-scale events. He noted plans to continue working on brand development, talent and audience engagement.
Audacy Chief Programming Officer Jeff Sottolano said Martin joined then CBS Radio in 2009 following a programming career at Clear Channel Communications. He initially led key Bay Area stations before being elevated in 2014 to oversee programming and music initiatives companywide, working closely with artists, labels and internal programming teams.
During his tenure, Martin helped develop major initiatives including the “We Can Survive” concert series and Audacy’s LAUNCH artist development program, which has supported emerging artists such as Alex Warren and Jelly Roll.
Earlier this year, Martin stepped down from his role as Brand Manager of Hot AC KLLC (Alice 97.3) in San Francisco to focus fully on his national responsibilities. He had led the station for more than 16 years, helping shape its programming strategy, artist partnerships and signature events, while remaining in the role through a transition period. Martin will remain with Audacy through May 1 as the company works to ensure a smooth transition across its programming and events teams.
