HeartMedia is conducting series of layoffs as part of a nationwide restructuring within the company. The moves are affecting several key figures and veteran broadcasters. Region SVP of Programming for the Carolina Metro A.J., with a 12-year tenure at iHeartMedia, is out. He had overseen clusters in Charlotte, Raleigh, Greensboro, Asheville NC, and Greenville SC.
A.J. expressed gratitude for his years of collaboration and success with iHeart, highlighting his journey from his early career days at Cumulus CHR WBHT-FM in Wilkes Barre-Scranton to his roles within the radio giant, including his last position overseeing the Virginia-Carolina region.
In Seattle, the layoffs led to the departure of Jim Moore, a co-host on KJR since 2021, and the subsequent decision by his co-host, Jason ‘Puck’ Puckett, to leave the station.
Additionally, Reggie Brown’s exit from WKKV-FM (V100) in Milwaukee marks his second departure from the station. Brown, who had a notable 21-year history with V100, saw his role as afternoon host and Program Director come to an end, signaling a significant shift towards a lineup featuring all iHeart-syndicated hosts.
