To All of Urban Radio.
Six years ago, we lost Congressman John Lewis. This weekend, we carry his fight forward.
The same spirit that fueled Selma, Montgomery, and the March on Washington lives on in events happening all weekend long:
- Friday — TEACH: Teach-ins, Know Your Rights trainings, and candlelight vigils in John Lewis’s memory
- Saturday — REACH: Voter registration drives and community engagement events
- Sunday — PREACH: Faith services across religions and traditions

Right now, we’re witnessing a Jim Crow-era effort to restrict our freedoms and silence Black and Brown communities. But if our vote didn’t matter, they wouldn’t try so hard to take it away.
MOVEMENT Black Voters Matter Fund is dedicated to expanding Black voter engagement and increasing progressive power through movement-building and engagement.
Working with grassroots organizations, specifically in key states in the South, BVMF seeks to increase voter registration and turnout, advocate for policies to expand voting rights/access, and help develop infrastructure where little or none exists to support a power-building movement that keeps Black voters and their issues at the forefront of our election process.
