I’m reaching out to share news of the passing of Atlanta entrepreneur, restaurateur, entertainment pioneer, and community leader James L. “Mr. V” Virgil, who died in 2026 at the age of 85. Mr. V was the founder of Mr. V’s Figure 8, the legendary Atlanta nightclub on Campbellton Road, as well as V’s on Peachtree and Mr. V’s Restaurant Equipment.
His influence extended across Atlanta’s entertainment, restaurant, business, and community sectors. The Figure 8 became a gathering place for entertainers, athletes, political leaders, entrepreneurs, and Atlanta’s Black professional community.
The family and Mr. V’s community will gather for a Candlelight Ceremony in his memory:
