Discrimination is alive and well in many ways and painful for those who have faced it. When was the last time you knew someone of color got a promotion? Who and what companies will hire African-Americans or even consider them for many of the high positions that become available. Why are we even having this discussion or why even laws. Then in radio there are many who ignore the diversity or where radio is today. Many urban stations within many market clusters lead in the ratings and revenue, yet the urban employees get paid less, a lot less.
This is ugly to talk about because most people see it in the open and at times even hear discrimination within their company. Recently North Carolina and Mississippi passed laws not popular with most of America. More interesting insite about these laws here.
