LA’s KFI host Mo Kelly sat down with gospel legend and 6-time Grammy Award-winner Bebe Winans on the eve of the L.A. debut of “Born for This;” the musical biography of Bebe and Cece Winans. The story tells of the Winans’ journey, winding from Detroit, to televangelists’ Jim and Tammy Faye Bakker’s PTL Club in North Carolina and of course then to Hollywood.
Bebe also opened up about the time in which the late Whitney Houston toured as a BACKGROUND singer with “Bebe and CeCe,” while already an international star.
Yes, you read that right. Whitney Houston sang background and toured “as a favor” out of the goodness of her heart. Listen how that favor led to Bebe producing a song for “The Bodyguard” soundtrack.
Born for This” will be running from July 11, to August 6 at the Broad Stage theater in Santa Monica, CA
This new musical features original music by six time GRAMMY® Award-winning artist BeBe Winans, book by Charles Randolph-Wright and BeBe Winans, and is directed by Randolph-Wright (director of the Broadway and West End runaway hit Motown: The Musical).
The Mo’Kelly Show is an eclectic mix of politics and entertainment on America’s #1 news/talk station KFI AM640 and iHeartRadio.
