Mediabase and Shazam (the app) are teaming up. Shazam has partnered to create weekly Shazam weekly charts that are to be available on the Mediabase site in Canada and the US. It’s the first time this kind of market-level data will be available in the two countries. Data will be available every Monday, starting this week.
Only the US, the Top 50 songs from markets 1-100 will be presented each week, and the Top 30 songs will be published from markets 101-150. In Canada, the Top 30 songs from 10 Canadian markets will be delivered weekly.
Providing Shazam data on a weekly basis “has been one of the most requested features our subscribers have been asking for,” noted Mediabase President & CEO Philippe Generali, “and we’re elated to be able to deliver this data in an accessible and timely manner.”
“We consistently get requests for detailed organic data,” said Shazam SVP Global Music Peter Szabo. “Adding the integration of Shazam analytics to Mediabase’s existing charts provides specific industry insight into the songs getting immediate reaction on the radio.”
